Story
Okko is an artist in the middle of two worlds. Born in 2000, he grew up in Louisville, KY and Washington, D.C with roots to Ghana. "D.C definitely is to blame for my attitude and love for music, but I represent Louisville since I spent most of my life there," he says. He first emerged onto the rap scene in September of 2020 dropping his first single 20/20 flow, reflecting on the pandemic and racial injustices. The same raw emotion and energy on that song can be found on his other songs as well. Okko doesn't shy away from vulnerability, but he also likes to have fun with his music. “Growing up in southeast which is the inner-city of D.C. and the suburbs of Louisville really gave me a unique perspective on life," he explained. He is influenced by multiple artists including J. Cole, Wale, Marvin Gaye, Al Green, and the late Notorious B.I.G.
